Meet Dr. Qianna Snooks

dr. qianna snooks Dr. Qianna Snooks is a licensed clinical psychologist in Pennsylvania; and a PSYPACT-certified clinician, permitted to provide telepsychology services in 39 states. She is a skilled practitioner who has provided services in outpatient, forensic, residential, and research settings for over 20 years. Dr. Snooks provides clinical psychology services to adolescent and adult populations experiencing trauma-related challenges, depression, anxiety, work/life balance issues, adjustment difficulties, interpersonal challenges, and cultural/diversity related concerns. She also has clinical expertise in psychological assessment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), cognitive ability, emotional, behavioral, and learning disorders; and in ACT 120/235 examinations.

One of the most powerful experiences that a person can have is sitting across from another human being and feeling understood. In her work, Dr. Snooks embraces an integration of Psychodynamic and Systems therapies. She seeks to understand the impact of the client’s unconscious wishes and drives; identify the coping strategies that they have available to them; and help them to understand both the interpersonal impact of their symptoms, and systemic contributions to the development and worsening of their presenting problems. From there, client and therapist are able to embark on a journey of positive change that includes learning new skills for effective coping and improving the client’s quality of life.

Dr. Snooks approaches therapy with a multicultural lens, cognizant of the fact that every person is an individual that has been shaped to some degree by their own cultural backdrop (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, spiritual path, etc.). She emphasizes the role of the client as the expert in their world; and therapy as a collaboration. Often this requires flexibility in her use of techniques. Dr. Snooks has experience and training in the use of Psychodynamic, Systems, Exposure, and Acceptance and Commitment therapies.
